Residencies in Writers Houses

Residencies in Writer's Houses

A number of organizations provide authors with a place to live and work while they complete a manuscript for publication. Universities, and increasingly over the past five years, public libraries are the most widely known hosts of author residency programs. Recently, however, smaller grassroots organizations have established author residencies in the former homes of well-known authors, including the following:

  • Berton House
  • Roderick Haig-Brown House
  • R.D. Lawrence Place at the Minden Hills Cultural Centre
  • Wallace Stegner House
