New Legends of Vancouver

This Sunday, April 22, renowned Stó:lō author Lee Maracle, Squamish storyteller William George, Squamish cultural practitioner Latash-Maurice Nahanee and Stó:lō storyteller Ronnie Dean Harris join Historic Joy Kogawa House writer-in-residence Janet Marie Rogers as they share contemporary histories of local First Nations territories and visions for the future.

Book sale and silent auction + AGM

On Wednesday, April 25, book sale and silent auction featuring discounted prices for nominated titles in all categories of the 2018 BC Book Prizes. Titles range from Eden Robinson’s Son of a Trickster (Ethel Wilson Fiction Prize) to Nicola Campbell’s A Day with Yayah, illustrated by Julie Flett (Christie Harris Illustrated Children’s Literature Prize).

The book sale and silent auction begin at 7:00pm followed by the Society’s AGM at 7:30pm.

Where: Historic Joy Kogawa House, 1450 West 64th Avenue, Vancouver
When: 7:00 to 8:30pm (Doors open at 6:45)

This is a good opportunity to view the heritage restoration work recently completed in the living room and sunroom at Kogawa House and to renew your membership.
