On Friday, August 3, the musical group First Friday Forum plays in the back yard of Historic Joy Kogawa House at 1450 West 64th Avenue, weather permitting.
For this occasion, we will have a barbecue from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., and music will play from 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Please bring something to barbecue for yourself and something to share. For environmental reasons, please bring your own dinnerware and cutlery (no plastic or Styrofoam). This would save the Kogawa House staff from having to wash up at the end of the evening.
First Friday Forum
It will be an open mike and jam evening. A venue for both music and conversation, First Friday Forum is a place where you can play or listen to live music, read your poetry, display your art, or take part in a discussion of current events. The core group consists of Tae Maeda on piano, Bob York on keyboard, Sharon McIntee Birrell, Tat Fukuda, Roberta Milne, and Nick Parker on vocals, Boaz Joseph, Jennifer Conroy, and Craig Stewart, ukuleles and vocals, and Wayne Soon on drums. The monthly gathering is a fun event where we perform in groups or individually, and we often jam together.
We invite you come. Bring your instrument, literature, or art, or just come and watch.
