Book Sale and Open House

When: December 8, Saturday, 3:00 to 6:00pm

Book Sale: Drop by to pick up great deals on new and used books at discount prices perfect for seasonal giving. New books, including recent titles by Asian Canadian writers (Evelyn Lau, Kevin Chong, Carrianne Leung, Jovanni Sy, Joy Kogawa), at $5. Used books are only $1.

Discussion (Inspirations from Real Life and History)A short discussion on how to take writing inspiration from real life, as well as the pitfalls of doing so. Approximately 15 to 20 minutes, including questions.

Literary Open Mic: Casual open mic for guests to read out excerpts of their work. Immediately after the discussion with writer-in-residence William Wai Liang Tham.

Emerging Voices

When: December 18, Tuesday, 7:00 to 8.30pm

Readings by emerging writers, including Thi Tran, Vincent Ternida, Carlo Javier, April Joy Milne, and Charlene Sayo, with Natalie Lim, winner of the 2018 CBC Poetry Prize for “Arrhythmia.”
