Alvin Pang (冯啟明; born 1972, Singapore) is a poet, writer, editor, anthologist, and translator. He was Singapore’s Young Artist of the Year for Literature in 2005 and received the Singapore Youth Award for Arts and Culture in 2007, and the JCCI Foundation Education Award in 2008. In 2021, he was appointed the honorary position of adjunct professor of RMIT University, in the School of Media and Communication.
His writing has been translated into more than 20 languages—including Chinese, Croatian, French, Macedonian, Malay, Slovene, Swedish and Ukrainian—and he has appeared in major festivals and publications worldwide, including the Penguin Book of the Prose Poem (Penguin, 2018). He is among the handful of poets from Singapore to be listed in the Oxford Companion to Modern Poetry in English (2nd Edition, 2013).

The World’s Place in Us
This in-depth poetry workshop led by Alvin Pang related Vancouver communities to the Signapore contemporary poetry scene.
The seminar analyzed innovations which teach new ways to build creative community and speak to the (historical, cultural, sexual, affective, economic) multiplicities of our city’s heritage. Attendees were invited to write their own poetry as part of this workshop.
