“Historic Joy Kogawa House provided me with both the abundance of peaceful solitude necessary to find my way into this project, as well as an opportunity to engage and connect with others through the pair of online workshops I designed and directed while there. Though my ideas for these workshops were unusual and untested, I was graciously allowed to try them out. The results were instructive, encouraging, even moving: three weeks after my residency ended, I am still receiving messages from participants.”
