For the first time in four years, we are offering a paid three-month residency at Historic Joy Kogawa House, the childhood home of Joy Kogawa, one of Canada’s most important and esteemed authors.

The house, located in the Vancouver neighbourhood of Marpole, now operates as a heritage and cultural centre and as a site of healing and reconciliation. Writers whose work resonates with these aims are strongly encouraged to apply.

Residencies offer precious time and space for authors to progress their practice and projects, while establishing new links with the community. Even more precious are those residencies in which the author is paid. This is the only paid residency opportunity we will be offering for 2016.

Applications are open now, and are due by 12:00 midnight, Monday, February 1, 2016.

Find out more about the residency program and submit your application soon!
