A craft talk on the process of sourcing song lyrics in poetry or other written text. Singer-songwriter, essayist, and poet Joseph Maviglia will share some of his songs and discuss ways to find rhythm patterns, identify verse and chorus, and draw out meaning to make songs from poetry and prose. Finding the right tempo and musical cadence to accompany the lyric theme will also be discussed.
