A Writing tip from Doretta Lau:
Sometimes the writing flows. And other times, it’s a grind.
One of the most things I’ve learned is that it is important to take breaks. Recharging is part of the writing process.
The next time you’re feeling frustrated because the words aren’t coming, just take ten minutes to lie down, breathe, and listen to “Weightless” by Marconi Union—it’s been called “the most relaxing song ever.”
When the ten minutes are over, you may discover that you have just the right amount of energy to return to the writing.
Join Doretta at Historic Joy Kogawa House for the workshop Reconnect with Your Writing Practice on Saturday, October 19, 11am to 1pm.
